Amoebae phagocytosis

#1 Post by Grahame » Sat Aug 25, 2018 8:50 am

Hi folks,
I've learnt a new fancy new word today.
Hope I'm using it in the correct way.
Anyway, I was playing around with a small drop of water from a water trough yesterday when I got these images.
I think the food is a paramecium ?
I've been trying to get some images of these speedsters for ages.
They were both pretty much transparent.

Nice! That tasty ciliate is Cinetochilum margaritaceum.
