Another marine alga

#1 Post by 75RR » Thu Nov 08, 2018 5:17 pm

16x/0.35, DIC, 420µm length, 33 image stack in Photoshop

Both images are DIC, in the lighter one the slider was scrolled to one side while in the darker one it was centered.
Background was cleaned up a bit on both images.

Boy those are really good, I was thinking I liked the darkfield better, but after looking at the actual cell structure, I think I like the first image better with relation to definable cell structure.
With my eyes anyway.

Thanks Rodney
I think I like the first image better with relation to definable cell structure.
There does seem to be more discernible detail in the first image.
Will try with a higher magnification objective if I get another chance.

Not sure if this is the same "octoalga" from before, it is however from the same slide which I kept overnight in a slide mailer.

Plan 40x/0.65, DIC, 390µm, 10 stacks stitched in Photoshop
