Wing part of a house fly

#1 Post by hkv » Sun Mar 22, 2015 9:36 pm

In "Darkfield". Not really, but I realized if I put the rotating DIC condenser between two positions the frame of the DIC prism blocks some of the light cone and a dark field like condition occurs. Not designed that way, but still an interesting side effect.

Technically I believe it is Darkfield, even if arrived at in a non orthodox fashion.
I have seen that effect (rotating a Phase condenser) with low power objectives. Which did you use?
Zeiss Standard WL (somewhat fashion challenged) & Wild M8
Olympus E-P2 (Micro Four Thirds Camera)

I think this was a 10x objective. The condenser was an Olympus U-UCDB.
