Here are some mites I observed present in an Atta refuse pile. I used a Nikon SMZ-U. Simple camera set-up with no lens. The camera was simply attached via the photo tube. Image was taken thru the lid of a petri dish. Attas deposit refuse from their fungus garden as well as unwanted or unconsumed food, dead bodies etc into this pile which I clean intermittently
