Paramecium Division

#1 Post by Radazz » Thu May 09, 2019 12:36 am

This is the second division I watched. The first while I waited for the old slow laptop to start up.
In both cases it looked as if there was an attendant individual which helped with the division.
Or it could be just a very delectable cloud of bacteria attracting them both.
I am of course speculating.

Thanks Radaz, to me it is notable how often that larger Paramecium nudges and contacts both of dividing pair. A contrast with how that separated 'sibling pair' do not contact or nudge either of the ciliates near itself. Post partum Paramecium depression?!! Jokes aside..behaviors of the splitting pair quite different from behavior of the larger lone ciliate...to my sense of this encounter you share. Charlie guevara
