Slimy algae colony and a Paramecium

#1 Post by Wes » Sun Sep 08, 2019 6:24 pm

The algae seem have to be connected via thin strands and also appear to be encapsulated in some sort of a slime layer. Also a Paramecium was kind enough to stand still for a few seconds so I could get a shot.

The shots were taken using DIC on a Zeiss photomicroscope

I appreciate the ID, now I can dig a little further into the organization of Dictyosphaerium.
