A rather large egg-sack

Brought back some algae from the fishing pond and found a 5mm gelatinous sack with what look like eggs inside:



I wasn’t sure whether it was alive or just some muck, so I slapped a cover glass over it (to have at least one flat surface) and put it under the microscope. I was surprised not only to find eggs - a dozen or so - but that the embryos were moving about, being quite active. Here it is at 8x speed for dramatic effect:



So, what say you forumers. Snails?

I have no idea what the eggs could be! But it would be nice to find out! Are you going to let them hatch?

Oh yes, it lives in my « swamp-in-a-jar ». I carefully placed it back and marked the spot for future observations. But, as with all things living, it seems to have moved and cannot see it anymore (3 days). Maybe they hatched already. Pictures will follow once I figure out how to display files from Google Drive.
