Pleurosigma
Pleurosigma
Diatom would not sit still for a photo so videoed it instead
It is 200µm in length
Do note that the movement is from the diatom, I did not touch the stage during this clip.

There is, of course, a genuine question underlying the jest ...
Unless you were really enticing it with Kibbles:
Is there maybe a heat or light source to one side of the stage ?
... and if so, was it attracted-to or fleeing-from ?
Too many 'projects'

They tend to move in straight lines - so far in one direction and then retrace their steps. Is there maybe a heat or light source to one side of the stage ?

Generally they avoid the light, so if they are still but not pinned down by the cover slip, they will start to move away after a few seconds.
To get them to cross the screen it helps to catch them underway, if you time it right they will get out of the light by traversing it rather than stopping and going into reverse.
Needless to say it took more than one attempt on my part.
They do say that one should never act/film with children and animals if one wishes to avoid vexation - one could add animalcules to the adage.
