Fellow microscopists - I just posted an article about Rotifers mostly Branchionus and Philodina, but there are pictures of other rotifers. I included a movie of these rotifers using a variety of microscopy techniques including: Phase contrast, DIC, Rheinberg, Darkfield, Bright field and Fluorescence microscopy. I also describe how I isolated rotifer trophi using Javex bleach. I presented a few fluorescence images of rotifers previously in this blog.
At the end of the article I put links to numerous reference papers about Rotifers including several Keys for those that might be interested in learning more about them. Below are a few pictures from the article. I hope you like it and find it useful.
