Curiously rather greener than most diatoms tend to be.

It is quite unusual - clue is in the species name.

I think it is pretending to be a desmid ;)

Partly because I knew what it looked like as it is on the diatom list for my area.

Also it is easier to see with a little more magnification.

This is part of one taken with my Planapo 63x a couple of days ago. Unfortunately it would not keep still so I could not get it to stack nicely nor stitch
