Not unless you already have a Nikon CFI Ph3 phase contrast objective (60x, 100x etc.) and no phase condenser.
If you want phase contrast, which will be $$$ for a Nikon E400, you might want a Zernicke type turret phase condenser with several annuli. One of those (with Ph1, Ph2, and Ph3 annuli) would be $100 more right now on Ebay ($299).
You might also want to start with something like 20x and 40x phase contrast objectives, which would likely want a Ph2 annulus. What with a pending recession and all, perhaps the normally pricey Nikon phase contrast objectives will be available for a bit less?
