Always nice when the fix turns out to be simple. Mostly mentioning this out of my own curiosity, in case you feel like experimenting further, but this part still seems suspicious:

Now that meant that the C-mount would go TOO far down, but that is ok, because part A can be unscrewed/raised by a large amount and still have a solid connection to part B.
Roughly how far did you have extend part A to focus? If you screw it back to the original position where the length was matched with the binocular, fully insert the lens, and focus by unscrewing the lens from the camera, how much additional distance is needed between the lens and camera? If it is around 5 mm that could be explained by a C vs. CS mount mismatch between the lens and camera.

Step 1: After removing the O-ring from the C-mount, that decreased the total focal length by about 10mm. Step 2: After that I raised part A by 5mm, so it seems the optimal focal length needed to be 5mm less than the original starting point. That appears to be in line with what you said about the C vs CS mount. :)

Always a good idea (as mentioned previously) to try for parfocality between the trinocular and the binocular tubes using the same eyepiece.

If achievable, then any mismatch is down to subsequent camera attachments. Saves performing drastic surgery :)
