C-Mount to Nikon Adapter
Trying to connect my Nikon D5300 to my new Olympus BX51 with the 0.5x c-mount and found this adapter on amazon.com:
https://www.amazon.com/Fotodiox-Adapter ... 341&sr=8-4
If it doesn't fit I can also get a 5mm c-mount extender to go with it:
https://www.amazon.com/Pixco-Adapter-Ex ... 241&sr=8-2
Does anyone think this will work? Will I run into image problems? Please leave comments and / or suggestions.

Some relevant words from the description, Steven:
This is because the ‘flange to sensor distance’ on the Nikon is more than either C or CS
... You will almost certainly therefore get some parfocality issues, unless you can reduce the existing tube-length.
Only practical testing will tell whether these are significant in your set-up.

What about swapping out the U-TV0.5xC-3 for a U_TV1x-2 and U-CMAD3 combination while still using the Fotodiox adapter?

I have absolutely no idea !
The fundamental problem is that the Nikon body is so much deeper than a C-mount ‘expects’

The DSLR viewfinder is unhelpful history if you want to go direct projection without intervening optics. By hook or by crook, its mirror has got to go: to greatly shorten the flange focal distance.

Re: C-Mount to Nikon Adapter
I think I found something useful while searching for camera to microscope adapters. This Japanese company makes adapters that are as expensive as a standard camera lens.

I already have a Nikon adapter from Amscope that comes with a 30mm eyepiece sleeve. All I need is a c-mount to 30mm outer diameter sleeve and I can save $800 US because the Amscope adapter actually works. Until I find the sleeve I can use the Amscope adapter in one of the ocular ports with live view.
