DSLR photography
What results can I expect from DSLR inside one of the eyepiece tubes? Is it called "prime focus" as in astrophotography? On telescopes I've used an older P&S digital to shoot the image at the eyepiece (astrophotography again: "eyepiece projection") with nice results though can be a little tricky. I'm excited to delve in to this when my new stereo compound arrives.
Re: DSLR photography
you need a dslr adapter with optics. the image must be picked up there where the objective projects it (1cm down the tube). If not, then you need to refocus the microscope, which results in the objective not operating at the ideal distance and lower image quality. dslr adapters without optics (prime focus) will also cause empty magnification.

Re: DSLR photography
Is also true of DSLR photography with a Non compound microscope?
Re: DSLR photography
stereo microscopes? yes, same principle.

Sorry, I meant binocular and low power (not compound) types....
