How to mount DSLR over infinity objectives (trinocular)?

#1 Post by SteveSteve » Sat Jul 04, 2015 4:24 pm

Hi Everyone,

I'm not used to working with infinity objectives my trinocular has a top port like this:

It's a 40mm diameter dovetail with a 28mm diameter tube below it. What is the best or most economical way to fit a DSLR mount and relay lens to this?

Is something like this suitable (with a C mount adapter on the Canon)?

"1X 0.5X 1/2 0.3X 1/3 C-Mount to Eyepiece Lens Trinocular Microscopes Adapter UK"

These links should help.
Second link is the manual in French. On page 8 is says it is a C mount.

OK I'm getting there...

I have ordered a C Mount adapter 1x which is shown as having a M28 thread at the other end.

Any idea what adapter would link this to a Canon 1000D?

Cheers
Steve.

What is the diameter of that center port? Is it designed to receive a photo ocular?

"I have ordered a C Mount adapter 1x which is shown as having a M28 thread at the other end. "

I think it's a 1" thread on the adapter, which is C mount so I have ordered a EOS-C adapter.

The center port is quite different in diameter to the eye pieces and I don't think that is one of the accessories that I have seen online for this microscope.
