This might be common knowledge.
Just a note on ceiling lighting from behind you while photographing or making videos with your scope.
I have a trinocular scope with my laptop on my right side. While viewing the subject on the computer screen I noticed very dim off color circles on the bottom of the display. When I moved my body and head in position to look through the eye pieces the circles disappeared. I then turned off the scopes light and produced a totally black screen that had the color circles on the bottom. The camera was picking up the ceiling light through the eye pieces. I now turn off the light when taking photos and videos.
Ceiling lighting and microphotography.
Re: Ceiling lighting and microphotography.
I have also gone in for this sort of thing but more out of paranoia, and in a fairly random way, rather than the proper way you have here.
Its a great observation and no doubt useful for many of us.
Many thanks

Interesting - I'm going to pop a 'hood' over my eyepieces when taking pics to see what happens... Thanks for the info.
