Change the C-Mount Adapter Or Port?

#1 Post by Constantine » Mon Aug 26, 2019 2:24 am

Hellow Everyone. I recelnty purchase an Amscope SM-3NTP Simul Focal Link Here --->https://www.amscope.com/7x-45x-simul-fo ... ion_tabbed with a Camera Hayear 14 Mp Link Here ----->https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B015U ... UTF8&psc=1

1,The Problem is that does not fit to the tricocular port and i need an adapter. ( The Camera Was A Gift).
2. I have read that even with an adapter will be out of focus cause it will move all the time, and i have to change? the C-Mount port with a diffrent one more shorter than this "cone" amscope is using.
I need your lights guys.

Thank you.

That is a standard c mount camera. I am not sure what mechanical hookup an amscope trinocular comes with by default, maybe a 23mm ocular at the top? Either way amscope's own cameras are also c mounts and will hook up fine. I am guessing you need a c mount to eyepiece adapter with reducing optics to get the right field of view.
The camera should stay in focus same as the view through the eyepieces through the entire zoom range.
If you could show what kind of connector your scope has for the trinocular port that would be great.

Amscope's own site shows the microscope with a camera attached:
https://www.amscope.com/3-5x-180x-simul ... amera.html

To use your camera, your will need a 'reducer' something like the one they illustrate

The appropriate reduction value will depend upon the size of your sensor.
... Sorry, Amscope seems a little coy about such things, but they may advise you.

Note: the 5.4mm ring is presumably a short extension to convert a CS camera body to C mount.
[readily available if it turns-out you need one]

Sorry but i "lost you" at some point.

The only thing i want to do is change the trinocular Port ( that tube) and install some other with reduction lens if possible and at the same time match with my Camera which have 30 mm mounting.

Thank you,

Konstantinos

The Amscope picture shows 'that tube' ... I don't think you need to change anything : Just add the missing component [a relay lens with suitable fittings]

Have a look at this page:
https://www.amscope.com/10mp-usb2-0-mic ... tware.html

Your camera is stated to have
14 megapixel Panasonic sensor 1/2.3 inch
... It's that sensor size which will determine which power of relay lens you should use.
Yours is the little one at bottom left corner of this diagram:
https://commons.m.wikimedia.org/wiki/Fi ... pdated.svg

I think you want the 0.3x relay lens, but sugest you ask Amscope.

yup 0.3 x Lens. Can you suggest me this kind of lens? (Not Amscope way out of budget).

Thank you.

Sorry, I have no personal knowledge of the available low-budget lenses ... but hopefully another forum member can recommend something.

You're saying the camera has a 30mm mount?
Do you have them in hand, or are they still en route? Photos of what exactly you have would help.
There are some cheap reduction lenses. Eg https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre ... 2577758289
No idea if they're good though. And you'll want to confirm it will match your measurements.

Exacly like that i want. the point is to enter to the scope and to the camera. And to find it inside USA :(
The camera states that is C-Mount but in the comments i read about 30mm mounting. Not sure will clarify tomorrow.
For any case this the link of the camera ---> https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B015U ... _qh_dp_hza

Thank you,

30mm would be the diameter of an eyepiece adapter that might be included with it. Usually these will be 23mm (old eyepiece standard) with an adapter for 30mm and/or 30.5 mm eyepiece tubes. That would screw on to the 25mm thread of a c-mount.

Agreed
The adapters are shown on the Amscope page that I linked last night

.

Edit: This seller is out of stock of 0.3x, but illustrates the 'package' that you should be looking for:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/C-Mount-Lens ... 2206623055
I must repeat, however, that I am not familiar with the optical quality of these components.
