HI,
I did my first "photo shooting session" with my new Leica .. and I have tried to hold my Smartphone and then my Fuji mirrorless Xe2 over the eyepieces and compare what I could get and surpisingly from the smartphone I can get better resolution !
Do I have wrong camera settings ?
On the Fuji I have used a 18mm lens (As suggested in this forum) with ISO1000 and I focused to infinity (Manual mode). Below some pics for comparison. Please do not pay attention to some dirt particles (not sure if it is on the objective or on the eyepiece... but cleaning the microscope will be my next task )

Should that not be ISO 100?On the Fuji I have used a 18mm lens (As suggested in this forum) with ISO1000 and I focused to infinity (Manual mode).
Smart phones are capable of taking very good images -if you don't have a photo-port (trinocular head) then the smartphone my be the best way to proceed. Did you use a smartphone holder?

Hi 75RR,
I haven't got have a trinocular head (which I realize only now it could have been a good choice ... paramecium run like Formula 1 !)
You are right, I have realized only afterwards that the ISO was pretty high and I will try again with lower ISO. I do not think however that this will make a great difference because Fuji is pretty good also wtih high ISO.
About Fuji:
-Is the focus to infinity the right setting ?
-Would an adapter for the camera improve the situation ?
Smartphone holder: I still did not look around for it. Any suggestion ?
Thanks
Marco

Infinity focus is correct as is manual setting.About Fuji:
-Is the focus to infinity the right setting ?

Note: You might want to confirm infinity setting on the lens corresponds to infinity in practice. (I focus on the moon and then tape the focus ring to hold it in place)
A way to hold the camera steady (tripod for example) is a must.
However, unless you are going to get a trinocular I would go with the phone.
There are plenty of Phone Adapter Mounts for sale on Amazon with reviews to help you choose.
