brain eating ameba

#1 Post by MicroInspector » Wed May 04, 2016 4:52 am

My real microscope just came in today
And yes it much bigger and stronger than my old microscope of x1200
I wondering if anyone has heard about news item about the brain eating ameba?
There was something about it in monsters inside me program.
I begain to look at srp canal near here looking at the water and wondered
What is the real truth about the water in there.
The brain eating ameba cuts your brain cells cell wall and the brain cells manbrane spills out
And the ameba eats it... Nightmare city and death
The microscope reveals the truth of life.

Hi!

This topic got me excited, I love Zombie movies. Brains.... :-)

The best source I found on Naegleria fowleri was this (the first google hit actually)
http://www.webmd.com/brain/brain-eating-amoeba

There are some microscope images of the amoabe here;

I wouldn't be scared of swimming though. It seems that there are only 8
fatalities a year in the US.

I read that politicians swim outdoors, 10 times or more as much as normal people do.

Boy that does a lot in our current political scene. I've suspected there is something in common in that subsection of our culture.

A healthy person, with competent immune system, usually won't be affect by ameobas. Careful hygiene practice, such as hand washing, takes care of most of those.

I fear that in the case of politicians the brain-eating amoebae would probably starve to death.
