Re: Antique Slides and Wooden Case
Actually they are fairly inexpensive. 22 drawers in that cupboard, each containing 12 slides, a total of 264 slides at $400, that is $1.5 per slide... including the wooden furniture itself...
Re: Antique Slides and Wooden Case
I counted 36 drawers, which would make 432, if it is full. Zooming in on the second drawer photo shows Test Diatoms and Diatoms.
I'll find out when it gets here. He accepted $325.

Sorry, my mistake. 36 numbered shallow drawers of treasures.

Fantastic collection you are embarked upon observing/ savoring..thanks, Charles for sharing this acquisition of microscopy subjects for your collection and enrichment.
I recently obtained fixed slides of our oceans radiolarian protists...what a profound treat to peruse oceans at my humble microscopy bench. thanks for your sharing microscopy paths, Charles.

Re: Antique Slides and Wooden Case
fantastic collection - looking forward to your postings of the highlights.
I am always interested in the history, the persons who engaged in the labor of love...
spied the name wt ashdowne on the last photo. william thomas, seems he lived 1875-1961, detroit,
was a mechanical engineer, had some children born around 1918 era.... at least
one son went on to patent some designs.

Re: Antique Slides and Wooden Case
That is a really fine purchase. Congratulations . It would be surprising if there were not many fantastic slides in there, The great hours you have ahead with them! Drawers that have them laying flat makes them easier to lift out and see what you are selecting. Wow. That is such a great cabinet.
