Barbados Radiolaria

#1 Post by KurtM » Sat Sep 01, 2018 1:59 am

I've been taming, house training, ironing out wrinkles, and generally getting acquainted with my new microscope, a Nikon Diaphot TMD with phase contrast and DIC, see: viewtopic.php?f=24&t=6335 . Today I conquered the last issue (hey, it's pushing 40 years old), and brought out a Barbados Radiolaria strew slide I got from Klaus Kemp some years ago to have a go at making pretty pictures just for fun.

Both images are stacks, of 10 for the first and 15 for the second; both through the 20x, DIC of course.

Wow!

This is a great image! What a cool subject, and you completely captured the fascinating and intricate form.

The 3D effect is especially pronounced on the second one. Your stack looks to be perfect to my eyes.

If this is what we can expect from the new scope, it is going to be a lot of fun around here!

Good Shootin' Tex

Thanks, guys! This new scope is taking a bit of getting used to, kinda like my whole world has been turned upside down... 8-)

I think you're in the wrong forum, surely you mean telescopic view of a spaceship ;)
Nice
