those are awesome images - what do you use the glycerin for, if you don't mind me asking? i keep seeing glycerin mentioned but don't know what it's used for :P

Glycerol, or glycerin, is a chemical compound of formula HOH₂C-CHOH-CH₂OH. It is a colorless, viscous and odorless liquid with a sweet and slightly toxic taste, used in many pharmaceutical compositions. Wikipedia
And I use liquid glycerine because its diffraction index is 1.47 while the water is 1.33

thanks! :)

i thought at first it might have been used to slow critters down, but i noticed it used on a non-moving subject and realised my theory was wrong :P i assume the diffraction index of the glycerine gives you sharper images or less abberations maybe?
