Zeiss Universal

Ok, Another unsolvable problem on the Universal. I have two epi-illumination objective holders.

One fits perfectly in a functional orientation, I.e., the illuminator port faces the rear (where the light enters).

The second fits with the reflector port facing the rear. No way for the light to get in! The dovetails slide in not wrong side.

The mounting bases differ by 90 degrees in their orientation. There seems to be no easy way to take out the screws and rotate 90 degrees; the holes and pins are not in the right place.

Any ideas or explanation? I would like to use the second one because of the multiple objective turret.

All help and comments appreciated!

Thanks.

I can't really see the dovetails in that picture. I wish they would show a picture with it taken apart...

It probably still doesn't help, but ... there are 7 good photos on the original listing.
