Greetings from eastern Long Island!

What is your microscopy history? What are your interests? What equipment do you use?

Greetings from eastern Long Island!

Hi all, what a nice site!

I'm a retired geologist (didn't use microscope much since undergrad) who had some extra time this winter after taking care of 2 Norwegian Elkhounds, 2 african cichlid tanks, cleaning the house and exercising. I saw a microscope video on utube and decided to investigate further.

I immediately found the American Optical Cycloptic on ebay and other websites and decided I would start there so I could revisit my long dormant rock and mineral collection. I was so impressed with the quality, value and company history that I quickly acquired an AO model 110.

I'm still in there honeymoon phase, learning, exploring, looking for more equipment I don't need, etc. I hope I can keep up the enthusiasm. This site is a great resource for that! Here are a few pics from my first few days. Cheers!

Congratulations. They look to be in very good condition.

I understand they are very good value for money if you live in the US.
Zeiss Standard WL (somewhat fashion challenged) & Wild M8
Olympus E-P2 (Micro Four Thirds Camera)
