#1 Post by ImperatorRex » Fri Jun 14, 2019 9:05 pm

Sebastian Hess and co-autors recently published below article...like to share the hyperlink & video info below:
"Recently, we described a new unicellular microbe, named Idionectes vortex, which swims by a previously unreported mode of motility. During swimming, the flagellum of this microscopic eukaryote rotates relative to the cell body, which was a very surprising finding."

Thanks for the post.
Regretfully, the supplementary videos are not opened by Microsoft Media Player on my Win7 PC. Wonder why.

It might be a browser issue rather than your media player. I am running Firefox.

Thanks 75RR!! On my PC, I use FireFox exclusively, EXCEPT for the Microbe Hunter Forum (due to past issues with uploading images). Yes, in FireFox the videos are visible and impressive.

Flow fields of swimming cells visualized by motion tracking of latex microbeads... impressive work!
