Purple & Green Ciliate

Ciliate is 65µm long

Surprised me too, not seen anything quite like that. Not having much luck finding out about it either.

If I had to guess I would say the green is most probably food (something it ate) and the purple colour is perhaps due to bacteria

I've not seen one of those with those colours before where did you get it from fresh or sault water or terrestrial?
I'm using a celestron microscope with 4, 10, 40, 100 times magnification. Eye pieces are 10 and 20.

First time for me as well. It is marine, from the southern coast of Spain.

It appears to be a species of Dysteria. What a marvellous colour!
