Purpose of 1x Microscope Camera Adaptor

If I'm not mistaken, there are some optical lenses in 1x microscope c-mount camera adaptors. Since the adaptor is 1x, what is the purpose of these optical lenses? Beg my illiteracy.

Most of them do not. If they do it would probably be to bring the image up a bit for positioning or to apply eyepiece corrections if applicable.
