" Through Magic Glasses"/ Ms. Arabella B. Buckley. I am eager to encounter and read this suggested text you treated us to images of.
on Gutenberg for online read or to download (html - convenient for web browser !)
and in EPUB format
http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/37589

A pdf version (horrid format !) is on Archive

" The Private Life of the Protozoa", Winifred Duncan, 1950...a beautiful text which partners well with " How to Know the Protozoa" byJahn!
Looks like Ms Duncan is too young to find on the free sites, so I'll have to watch ebay :) !
and I cant find the old Jahn either, only a revised version which is also too recent to be downloadable.

Thanks again Malphi, for the excellent spotlight on that vintage text: "Through Magic Glasses". Microscopy offers enjoyment in the texts as we all progressed on from Anton L. of Delft/Netherlands...we can pursue so much enrichment of our world views with microscopy, and forum microscopy as Oliver Kim has constructed for us all..yes, yes! Thanks

Like the description of Spirogyra:

"When viewed under the microscope, with a power of one or two hundred diameters, the bands of chlorophyll, or green colouring matter, are seen disposed in various elegant spirals..."
