What illumination was it - phase ?

Is that an ARRANGED slide ? they are so symmetrically laid.

Thanks Hobbyst! Yes, this is done with phase contrast (taken with a 40/0,75 Neofluar Ph2).

Its a fortuitous assembly of algae, the one and only occasion where I saw such a thing. I'm a bit puzzled as to how it happened.
