Is this a quality scope?

I can't find much information about it.

I'd guess a Chinese-made scope broadly modeled on an Olynpus BH2.

Steindorff was once a serious brand a long time back. It looks like the name has also been used to sell the same Chinese scopes you'll see for sale from any smalltime dealer.

Qualitywise it's probably just ok, not a toy but inferior optically and mechanically to the bh2 it is an imitation of, and not very expandable or upgradeable. If you find one really cheap it's probably worth picking up, but I wouldn't seek it out.

Thanks for the reply.

I saw the identical scope online as a Labomed and another one called AMscope.
I think I'll keep going with my old AO Spencer.

I second Scarodactyls impression that this is no Steindorff microscope.
On the other hand side: The real Steindorff microscopes from Berlin were not too hot too. Mechanically robust but optically very simple. They were sold to doctor's offices for simple routine tasks and nothing the amateur (doing things for enjoyment) would choose.

Ah, but they did make the Microbe Hunter

One heck of a nice-looking scope, optics aside.

That is true.
I think with the microbe hunter they tried to present themselves as a research microscope brand in the USA. I'm not aware that they had higher corrected optics of special contrast methods in their lineup. The microbe hunter was more or less a magnificiently looking dummy.
