Diatoms to Dinosaurs

#1 Post by 75RR » Fri Jul 31, 2020 4:56 pm

.
Not strictly a book about microscopy on the whole, but feel I can justify adding it here due to the very interesting chapter on Plankton, on which it does qualify ... see DRIFTING WITH THE TIDE: LIFE IN THE PLANKTON page 197

One comes away with a much more immediate understanding of what life is like for plankton.

As an example let me say that I never even considered the effect of the Reynolds number on Plankton, yet it seems to rule their lives.

However all of the book is worth a read.

This is from the blurb:

“This is a delightful essay written from the point of view that physics, chemistry, engineering, and physiology really matter to everyday life."
