inverted zeiss table mod

#1 Post by EYE C U » Tue Sep 22, 2020 3:10 pm

no it's not mr potato head....never liked solid tables ..so when i built this i planned on using a 2 axis table....my first question was will the objectives reach with the thickness..well they did...

the problem started once i added the longer objectives..they would hit the bottom of the plate...so disassembly was on the list of things to do..

lots of room now..i could have went all the way through but i left some to keep it stiff..so i have to drop a couple turns to turn turret but that's no big deal to me...

lots of ball bearing to play with in the process...a few fingers of silicone grease helps keep things cooperating during assemble....nice of zeiss to have pin holes that hold back the tension bar during assembly

What objectives are those? Would regular Zeiss objectives have fit without the cutting? Here is my Zeiss Inverted and the objectives can be turned without hitting the bottom.

DOES YOUR SCOPE HOLD 4 OR 5 OBJECTIVES?

I will have to break it out of storage and take a look at the stage. The stage did come with the scope is specific for the inverted and probably does have different structure to allow for the objective clearance. The extenders are DIC holders with DIC slides.
