me again asking for cheap alternative: Objectives

I saw <20 USD worth of objective lens (made in China).
I was wondering if you had tried any of them? What are your thoughts?

Also, in general, what do you consider in choosing/buying a new objective lens.

(I am using Olypus CX 23, and I want to buy 20x or 60x objectives. )

Gotta figure out what you're going to be looking at first, then decide if there are options for your current stand, then figure out how much you're willing to spend, then look to see if available objectives in the budget satisfy step one

Some chinese objectives are good, some are just fine, others are barely ok, some are awful.
A lot of Chinese infinity objectives are olympus compatible, so that isn't an issue. But I haven't seen a 20x or 60x that was in that price range before. What listing are you looking at. If you don't mind me asking?

I can't knock China objective because I never use them but for the cost that you can pickup Nikon lenses on eBay that is where I would put my money. I picked up a brand new E plan for 30 USD a few weeks ago. I have bough Nikon plan objectives for less. Olympus "A" are fine for general use and can often be had for next to nothing. D plans are a little more but I really like them for the money. I got a D plan 100x for $42 last week. However with the Olympus D's and S's you have to do a little digging to get the best price.

What I consider when buying lenses is simply optical quality, cost and whether or not I have the right eyepieces to work with them. I can't afford top of the line so I go after the lenses mentioned and others from Zeiss and Leitz. IMO you can never have too many objectives! You must also consider the eyepiece corrections so I keep an assortment of eyepieces from different manufactures as well. Mismatching eyepieces and object glass can be hit or miss.

A 60x is going to be pretty testy even under ideal circumstances especially the dry ones mrsonchus got pretty good performance off of one but reading the review it may be that that was an especially good example and in case cost four times the amount suggested here.

That being said, it's so cheap it might be worth a gamble and you can post results here for everyone's edification

Those are finite objectives. They won't do you any good on an infinite stand.
