#1 Post by Red_Green » Tue Feb 23, 2021 9:38 pm

Hi. For anybody wondering why the Amscope black coated objectives are double the price of the regular silver ones, this is why.
was thinking of getting the black ones, but if there the same. Might as well get the silvers.

Better appearance ain't better performance. Be careful out there.

If the optics are the same, then I will buy the silver ones. If the microscope I'm going to put it on already has black objectives, then I'll buy the black ones.
If I can't see it with my microscope, it ain't worth looking at. :D

That is a funny thing for customer service to admit!
Unfortunately I would suspect that even if an amscope rep said it it isn't necessarily the case--I don't think they tend to have a deep knowledge of optics beyond what's on the specs.
