When you bought this scope, if all was working ok, leave it alone until you get familiar with it.
I own two Zeiss scopes, the Universal and the Phomi II, dark field< phase<Brightfield and EPI reflected.
Lovely old scopes and both working well.
not bad for scopes over forty years old.

Old trick that often works.
Try to tighten the screw? what this does is sometimes breaks the seal in side the screw, then try unscrewing as normal

I have found that thinning down NPM with ten to fifteen percent
Acetate, improves both placement and clarity of specimen.
Make sure that edges of slide cover glass are well sealed, again full strength NPM.

sorry but missed the posting when you had taken apart the Iris? Replacement cost £20.00 uk pound postage would have to check. Your Field Iris is missing the leaves!
