These specimens were from local (Ohio) pond water. My son found what appears to be an egg case and a whatever. Can anyone identify them?
Thank you,
Jim

Re: What is this device?
Thank you, 75RR, for your answer to my question. I am currently in the process of buying a 465277 condenser for my Zeiss Standard 14 which I recently purchased and tried to post pictures of under "My Microscope". Again, thanks for your help.

What is this device?
Hi, I am a newbie and have a question that I hope someone out there can answer. I have attached a picture of a Zeiss microscope with an apparatus beneath the condenser. I would like to know what it is called and what it is used for. I did look at several Zeiss catalogs and was unable to identify it....

Re: Hello from Ohio
Hi to Hobbyst 46 and 75RR, Thank you both for your prompt reply. I have read your replies to my questions and appreciate your insight. In reference to statements which I made in my initial text, I see that I misspoke. Instead of saying "brand new objectives", I should have said "previously unused ob...

Hello from Ohio
Hi Everyone, I am new to the world of microscopes. That is to say that until very recently, I have not handled one in over 50 years. The last time was in a college microbiology class back in the early 1960's. I found the study of bacteria and the like fascinating but never got back to it. A friend r...
