Re: Wild Heerbrugg M8 scraping noise on zoom
I'd carefully try to remove any remaining grease and wd40 residue with petroleum ether or lighter fluid before relubricating. wd40 is likely to kind of resinify after a short period. I am using synthetic watch libricants from moebius. For the rods i even switched from using grease to thin oil (Synt-...

Axiomat are M27, same as the newer Axio series. The first Axio series were only RMS i'd guess.
Rumor has it the final compensation correction on Axios is done by the tube lens.
So Axiomat probably won't fit at all to Axio.

Re: Wanted: Zeiss Axiomat - Planapo 50x 0.95 with collar 0.14-0.22
Beside the square block format and the 100 lbs weight difference? Apparently Axiomats were the first infinity series from Zeiss. As i've got to know from the german microscopy forum, the objectives were not fully infinity corrected and depend on a correction lens above the turret to give full achrom...

Dear Michael,
Ask / have a look here:
https://www.mikroskop-online.de
According to site search results, at least the 12/25 and the 25 papo objective prisms are available.
Found some condensor prisms too..

Re: Slit Interference Contrast
Hi Bob, the basic design has to be the same as with PZO, but my prism height is fixed. I didn't focus on details like specimen orientation or perfect rendering yet. And diatoms are not my favorite specimens for real DIC. But they look quite nice with slitDIC and i thought they are well suited for a ...

Slit Interference Contrast
Hi, had to give it a try after reading the PlasDIC post. No idea about the origin of the Prism i've used, had it around for a while. Just some tape for the slit to begin. Tried on a Zeiss Jena Jenamed scope. IMG_7295.JPG First impressions, slit approx. 3.5 mm, 50x objective. Open aperture: P1140895....

Re: are these eyepiece in good condition ?
Agree with Bob, coating probably worn or just dirty.
They should both look greenish when clean.
Petrolum ethers, as Bob suggested, might help remove some residues where soap or alcohol won't easily.

Re: PlasDIC
Hi, you are right regarding polarizer/analyzer position and PlasDIC. For PlasDIC you will usually find objective specific prisms and the polarizer and analyzer are both placed behind the sample. There once was an article in a german microscope magazine: https://www.zobodat.at/pdf/Mikrokosmos_72_0001...

Without an IR/heat filter in the light path, my critters won't survive 60 seconds with some halogen 25 watt lamps.

I know this shop as a good source for filters if you don't want to spend too much.
To start with excitation replacement:
https://www.ebay.de/itm/Ottico-Filtro-4 ... 23a9bd7ba6
Also your beamsplitter could be worn-down.

Hi, for your type of sensor this might be the best option you can get. The T2 / 2.5 will crop to much of your frame unless you change your camera setup to full frame. Don't think there is any or much difference between your video option adapter and the one for digital compact cameras regarding size ...

Hi,
BHS or BHT?
My BHT tends to get quiet warm after a while, but i wouldn't call it hot.
Guess this is just usual heat dissipation from the lamp and the power transformer.

stefan

Re: Darkfield using Olympus BH2/BHS
Not that easy to answer, it would help to let us know which condenser you have. You'll have to build some kind of support to fit under/inside the condenser where you could put some stops. But you won't be able to realize good darkfield for higher magnifications that way anyways. Maybe this could giv...

Hello,
your last picture shows a diopter adjustable, FOV25 and 30mm tube diameter eyepiece from the cf-250 era of Zeiss Jena.
Fits to Jenamed, Jenaval, Jenalumar and many more.
Hope this helps.

Stefan
