Re: Zeiss Jena focusing telescopes

Ok.
I think it has to do with a glass plate shift of focus.
I have to compare one with a beam splitter and one with a sliding mirror.

Zeiss Jena focusing telescopes

Hi. Photo projection objectives of Zeiss Jena are made for projection distance of 125mm. Below are listed different focusing attachments. Circled in red. Screenshot_2022-09-04-00-14-50-612_com.paperpile~2.jpg My question is how they can use the same camera connection tube from above if length of foc...

Re: The best Camera for Photomicrography

Nice article.
I would only clarify the situation when people say that 3M is enough. It is when you attach a DLSR to the older 35mm photo camera adapter, which uses a projective eyepiece. Without additional optics 3M is about as high as you will need.
Best.

Zeiss Jena camera focusing problem.

Hi. I am using this setup. https://photos.app.goo.gl/GsykgXYFPWQhkmMP6 With MF-projective 4:1 (projection distance 125 mm) and Cannon 40D. My problem that to get sharp image I have to extend sensor eyepiece distance all the way to ~160 mm. With low magnification 6x, 3x even then I cannot get clear p...

Re: HBO 202 working current?

Thanks.
That was stupid of me, I have found the voltage on the Oram site, but somehow it did not come into my mind to calculate current from the power rating.
I have dedicated PSU for it, but it has 6 steps current selector between 3.3 and 5A.
Best.

Fluoval/Amplival trinocular head. Lost magnification.

Hi everybody. In Fluoval, there is a trino head. Reading magnification 1.6 for oculars and 3.2 for photo output. I have measured magnification ant it is more like 1 and 2. I wonder if this 0.6 have been lost somewhere in the relay optics of the excitation cube. How does it work in Amplival if anyone...

I have came across this ocular. Any idea then to use it?
It is over 10 cm long, not sure it will fit in my trinocular head.
Thanks.

Try an independent serviceman.
They may do it. In Czech Republic I know at least 5 of them.
Or give it to some one who fixes TVs :)

Hi Wes. Firstly let me tell that you have made nice pictures. Now back to your question. Without knowing systematics of algae on the picture I can only make an educated guess. Most of eukaryotes will use Chlorophylls (a, b and some others) Here some examples of spectra from light harvesting protein:...

Thanks in advance for specific information: the ones with 150um thick bottom, with which high numerical aperture objective can they be used ? S...

Hi guys. Here is the main reason why inverted microscope is used in cell culture and biology. Cells are grown in petri dishes: https://www.deltaed.co.nz/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/44PDG.jpg Or other similar thing, like ibidi slides: https://ibidi.com/726-large_default/-slide-18-well-glass-bottom.jpg...

Hi Bob.
Thanks.
I have been considering it. But my knowledge of German have stopped me from it.
I guess I will try, but I will need someone to help me to register. I was under impression that there was a small English branch on the German forum but was not able to find it.
Best.

Re: Lamp house grease

It is hard to say now as I cannot start them and I do not have previous experience with them.
I have ordered some antistuck with working temperature up to 1000C. If it will be to dense I will use G-1/3 OLELUBE vaseline. It has working temperature up to 200C.
And then I will see.

Re: Lamp house grease

I am sure...
There are remainings of old grease on it, which solidified and lamp adjustment knobs ceased to move.
Here a photo of one of them from the internet.
I do not have them around to make a photo.
