3 Unidentified Microscopic Objects
Hello. I have taken some images of species from a pond water sample and I have seen some things I can't identify. First some round/oval-shaped figures that I think are either some kind of eggs or pollen, then irregular-shaped cells I believe, and finally what may be a ciliate (I don't know much else...

Re: What tree is this leave from?
Location will help, but my guess would be a Linden. Any flowers, pods, seeds, fruit? Images of the bark and/or whole tree may also help. That is however, a tad larger than the typical specimens examined here. :P Linden looks pretty similar, but I think this tree is slightly bigger and the tree top ...

Re: What tree is this leave from?
The tree is quite big, maybe up to eight meters, here's a same type of tree from Google Earth.

What tree is this leave from?
I am going to make slides with different leaves, and I do not know what tree this one comes from. It looks like a birch leave. Can anyone help?
Thanks,
Thanks,

Too small?
The smallest bacteria are about 500 - 200 nm, the ebola virus is 600 - 1400 nm . Could it be seen with a light microscope? If so, at what magnitude? If not, other bacteria would be too small for the light microscope, wouldn't they?
Thanks,
Thanks,

Re: Camera or slides?
I only mentioned that because it would take me time to prepare 100 slides that last about 2 years each. So I guess the camera is a better choice.Scarodactyl wrote: ↑Wed May 06, 2020 5:40 pmJust from a very broad perspective, you can make your own slides but you can't make your own camera.
Thank you!

Camera or slides?
Hello! I would like to get something else for my microscope, and I found a pack of 100 different slides for 30€ on Amazon and a microscopy-astronomy camera for 70€ on another website called astroshop. What do you think I should get? Camera: https://www.astroshop.es/cmos/bresser-microcular-camara-de-...

Re: Very small annelids, rotifers or other?
Found out a way to post them here!
They are mostly in groups and they don't move. I viewed some moss under the microscope and they were everywhere, maybe some kind of "spore-deliverer"?
Thanks,

Very small annelids, rotifers or other?
Hello! I took some images of some microorganisms a few days ago. They're dark brown, compact and seem to be divided in segments (that's why I think they may be some kind of annelids, although there are some small rotifers). Can anyone help me identify these creatures? Images are too big, sorry about...

Synura, Haematococcus cyst or other?
Hello! I've left 4 glasses of water on the balcony for about a month and a half, and two of them have turned orangish-red. I saw a video on YouTube by Journey to the Microcosmos that in spring there are microorganisms called Synura that turn the water orange. When I looked at it with my microscope I...

Why not put a gallery?
I have been in some forums about imaging, and a cool thing they have is a gallery for each user. What about doing it here?

Re: What is this and what is it for?
Aha! It's a rudimentary hand-section cutter - for soft stems of small diameter. Push a small soft stem piece through one of the holes, from below. Set it to just be sticking up above the hole's side by about 1mm then turn the blade-holding part to cut a section. Place under your 'scope - in a drop ...

What is this and what is it for?
Complete beginner here. This came with my microscope and I don't know what it is. The top part rotates and seems to have a thin layer of something.
Thanks,
Thanks,
