Re: choosing software
Different brand but similar camera. The software for camera was only capture to program using usb. I capture on the SD card & download to computer. From there you can use gimp for photos & windows video editor or handbrake for video. All are free. The only editing I do is to shorten video ( out of f...

Re: Choosing Camera
Thanks garstro - that video (both in fact) looks crystal-clear to me. Did you have the reduction lens in and what resolution/format are these recorded in originally, before YT's adjustments? Does this record to the TF vcard or does it record to a laptop via USB? Thanks for posting. I think you have...

Re: Choosing Camera
Also have Swift 380t. I opted for a industrial camera with hdmi, USB2, with TF card. You will need a .5x adapter to parfocal with eyepieces. Also a card reader for TF card to see photo & video on computer. You can also hook up USB directly to computer. I went with this as a low cost alternative to d...

Re: Swift 380T Filter?
Looked at scope & i wouldn't attempt to change anything. Scope came with adapter that fits on tritube that is somewhat adjustable (threaded). Have been able to change out .5x adapter to 1x adapter by adjustment. 1x adapter increases image by about 1/3 but loose definition at 60+x. I would think if y...

Re: Quick and dirty darkfield trick
If I remember correctly, couldn't get enough light with 40x. I'll have to try the 20x & see if that works.

Re: Swift 380T Filter?
I didn't want to pay a small fortune for a dslr camera & read about nightmares to attach to scope. Opted for 21mp industrial camera with hdmi using .5x adapter. Works great for newby like me.

Nice pics. I have same scope & I don't think the filters work any better than what you did.

Re: Swift 380T Filter?
Had best luck with the 8 & 20mm patchstops. the 4 & 10x objectives work well but you need to adjust condenser very close to bottom of slide & pretty much fine tune it. Too high the lens will push the slide up. I think the higher x objectives didn't work very well. I actually like using oblique filte...

Re: Swift 380T Filter?
I purchased 32mm ( I measured with calipers the blue filter that came with scope ) darkfield & oblique set from off ebay. Also bought a polarizing filter to put under head & a 32mm polar for filter holder. However , you can't really turn the filter while in the holder to get the correct effect. Solv...

Re: AlIExpress Camera
I purchased a Koppace 21mp industrial type camera to use in trinocular tube on compound microscope. It looks identical to what you're looking at. Am very pleased with quality of the video especially thru the hdmi. I believe these are just generic cameras sold by practically anybody but I was impress...

Re: help editing videos
Thanks " Roldorf " for a quick response. I'll check it out. If you can import mag power & calibration bars as images into video is just what I'm looking for. I'm new at this & the microbehunter forum & videos are a great help. Thanks again.

help editing videos
hello everyone. I have gotten to the point of making calibration bars & inserting them in images using windows paint thanks to microbobs videos. Also have gimp & handbrake. But how do you insert cal. bar into video? Seems all this editing software only works on photos. I noticed on this board, most ...

Re: SWIFT SW380T assistance required
Total newbie to microscopy. I purchased sw380t awhile ago also. It appears I'm not alone with this situation. The problem I have, I thought, was the eyepieces or my eyeballs ( I'm an old-timer ) The higher the objective the blurrier it got. Less blurry thru tri tube though. I also purchased a 21mp c...

Re: Anyone with a Swift SW350T ?
I didn't think the 380t had a filter holder until I looked for a iris diaphragm with filter holder for Swift on Ebay. Found one with picture & compared with mine. Same thing. The slide out holder has small metal nub that sticks down. Originally thought it was a fastener for the assembly. Pushed side...

Re: Anyone with a Swift SW350T ?
Egads inspected bottom of iris diaphragm & there is a pin sticking out of bottom that you use to slide out the filter holder. Looked & looked before & did not see this. Now will be easy to add filters.

Re: Anyone with a Swift SW350T ?
Purchased a Swift 380T thinking it had a filter holder as they included a blue filter. However it had an iris diaphragm instead. No biggy as I'm pleased with this scope. Will try fitting it with patches & polarizing filters eventually.

Hello from the Pacific Northwest
Been retired for years. Bought a Swift 380T for Christmas gift for myself. (ha ha) Good thing because they are going for big bucks now. Am a total newbie at this but Microbehunter fascinated me to no end. Also purchased a Koppace 21mp FHD camera. I'm very pleased with the performance of this setup. ...
