Yes, our loved ones can be annoyed by our hobby when we spend more time with our favorite devices than with our family. Here you really need to somehow normalize your routine.

Re: Microscope Cameras?
Many cell phones these days have cameras that really are nothing short of amazing--at least for someone old enough to remember when 35mm was considered a tiny format. And no mirror or shutter vibration issues! Since you have apparently found an iPhone adapter that works dependably, the main argumen...

Re: Bought a new digital microscope
The point of this digiscope is that it takes pictures to jpg files on a memory card. I can process the images through normal photo software. The other digiscopes require the computer and the camera software only minimally supports digital microscopes. dogandcat.jpgmapleseed.jpgsmall fly.jpg Awesome...

Ya'll ever wonder what it would be like to look at microscopic samples taken from other planets? I mean maybe there is microscopic life on other planets? Has NASA done this or anybody? There have beena couple of tests attempted to look for signs of life chemically. Spirit and Opportunity and perhap...

Re: Things Seen on Mars
What about observing celestial bodies? Of course, the surface of Mars cannot be examined in detail, but with a sufficiently powerful telescope, you can follow the storms that occur in the atmosphere of Mars, you can follow the surface of the Moon, and with sufficient skill and experience, you can al...

Yes indeed Rossf, a very important and neglected area. This forensic technique through its meticulous procedure opens a window for investigators to collect accurate and valid evidence before a jury. The offender or murderer fails to take these details into account when committing his crime. Here is...

There are all kinds of possibilities for adapting digital cameras. For a few years, I used a 49.00 14 mpx point and shoot camera hovering over an eyepiece on an 8.00 tripod I bought second hand at value village.I wasn't displeased with the results because the eyepiece I was using provided a wide fl...

I'm thinking about whether it is possible to adapt a digital camera to a microscope? I think it will be easier with her than with a DSLR. Only I don’t know which camera is better to buy. @Bram, unfortunately those must be the wrong side of the pond for me. I quite fancy a decent stereo. At $50 it might even be worth paying the delivery charges. It is worth paying for the delivery of high-quality equipment. It is not cheap and good. And it never did. It's important to understand tha...

I have a Nikon D7200 and a Nikon D810. Both are excellent and both work well as a regular camera and when attached to my Olympus BH2 with a trinocular head. Of the cameras you originally referenced the Nikon D850 is likely the best DSLR ever made (maybe the new mirrorless ones are better?). However...

My microscope is still old and needs to be changed. but have not yet decided which model to take. I plan on getting a new microscope some time next month myself, and I too was looking at the Motic BA310E and 410E. I think both have been proven to be very capable microscopes. With the 410E having Fluar and App objectives as an option. If you filter the Motic Blog for this you can find a lot of i...

Is it something like moss or algae? I saw a similar one in small swamps. Only there the bottom is more often covered with such a green bloom, and speckles of air are also visible.

Re: The easiest microscope to tweak, modify
Professional high-quality electron microscopes are much cooler than the usual desktop microscopes that we use at school. I used a school-type telescope so much when my son and I tried to study the stars. But when they found photos from powerful telescopes, this is heaven and earth. It is a pity, of ...
