Clean pond samples for DF imaging

Any suggestions for isolating aquatic organisms for dark field imaging? When I isolate organisms I usually bring some detritus with it which, due to the high contrast nature of dark field, shows up really badly. This is easy to 'clean' in editing for photos, but is much more difficult or impossible ...

Thanks John, but if anyone deserves credit for the actual fix, it should be David Walker of Micscape Magazine fame, it was he who very kindly suggested that my condenser likely wasn't going up far enough. At least I'm pretty sure that's who it was, he just signed as "David", but I can put 2 and 2 t...
