My Digital Scope modded slightly
Hi all, Here's my microscopy setup, an SW380T, don't need to say or show anything about that, as there is plenty of information on here and Oliver did a good video on it. My other scope is a digital... as seen here <img> https://www.dropbox.com/s/k92h9a8vmlc2svh/20210225_090815.jpg?dl=0 </img> Just ...

Re: DF patch stops, polarizing filters for Swift380T + microtome
The microtome: Cheap as it is one would expect chewing gum automat toy qualtity. But no, for the money it is actually very good. Typically products are let down by single drawbacks, especially cheap products. The hand microtome really is not great, but it doesn't have any really weak points and is ...

Re: Have 3d printer, will print.
Hey all. I have a 3d printer and I've run out of things to make. If anyone needs something done up, I'm game to give it a go. Hi there, What location of the world are you in? New on here, not sure if that info is already available. But I'm after a set of the darkfield patch stops for an SW380T :) I...

Re: A quick birth of a microbe
That makes me go "wow!" Thank you. I had the same feeling when I saw that happen! I was wow already when I was watching it earlier for an hour it had tentacles that lanced the 'prey' then on a higher magnification you could actually see 'stuff' going down the inside of these tentacles draining the ...

Re: Blood help identifying cells
hello, i didnt get to see the image but i assume it was simply the blood cells drying out. I often observe this while looking at blood samples, the same phenomenon happens when the cells are in a hypertonic solution. If you are diabetic, cells often look like this when your blood sugar is high. It ...

Re: DF patch stops, polarizing filters for Swift380T + microtome
Thanks for the replies. Appreciate the advice given. Now to find an expensive repair job the wife has been waiting for me to fix..... "Hmm, if only I could print the part, now wouldn't that be good, could save hundreds..." See how it goes; finger crossed Unfortunately not sure of anyone I know with ...

A quick birth of a microbe
Hi all, Not sure what this is but had the camera going. Just swapped out the filters to try different effect. Re: DF patch stops, polarizing filters for Swift380T + microtome
Very nice. On my wish list next. A 3d printer. Although the missus wouldn't accept the fact I need one. bah. Thanks for linking the polarized ebay link. I'll be sure to get them. Will have a scout around for darkfield patches later tonight. See how much they'll set me back. But yeah, that link of th...

Re: Hi from Morecambe
Just to add a welcome from someone else here in the UK. White Rose, not Red Rose.... Many years ago, there used to be an amazing 'shop' in Morecambe, near the front somewhere, that was rammed with scientific stuff, including many microscopes. Long since gone, but the image came back to me as I read...

Blood help identifying cells
Hi, New here, but thought, 'why not' might as well have a go at making a formal post and ask a question. So, anyone have any idea as to why the blood looks like it does in this short video...(shortish) Not sure why it looks like it does, any help identifying what the cells are would be appreciated. ...
