Sorry to be so blunt, however: there should be some colors in those subjects you recorded in videos.

I think your condenser may be set too low; or condenser iris / illuminator field iris closed down too much.

It depends on what (tube length) you have after the MIP5.

If it is an unmodified Olympus trinocular head, then tube length should be perfect.

Or you can use extension tubes of the right length for camera only and sacrifice visual viewing from visual eyepieces.

Many people use petroleum jelly, because you can press it to make it thinner and it kind of prevents water from leaking.

Aluminum foil for oven cooking, transparent tape, plastic fil wraps, may also work, depending on your sample thickness.

I don't know if these count:

1) the fact that water bears are nearly immortal;

2) how cancer cells can survive most (several lines of treatments) of the modern therapeutics.

These are research and theories on those. But we are not completely clear yet.

And a darkfield slider (which would barely work for 40x NA 0.65 objective) is nowhere as good as dedicated cardioid or paraboloid darkfield condenser (will will work for an 100x iris objective). Welcome Jenny, With 4k USD, you should be able to get a used Zeiss or American Optical DIC scope that provide better imaging that that AccuScope. Apo objectives are more important for objective NA of 0.5 and more. Under that, achromats are perfectly capable under DIC. Save 1k for y ou or USB camera....

Compatibility/ versatility wise, MIP5 head unit > MIP3 head > MIP2 unit.

MIP2 head has two protruding knobs and may not be easy to modify for non-PZO scopes.

Hello, Dave. Is your Biolam the large stand or the portable stand (there are quite a few of them named "Biolam")? I have a small portable Biolam and I don't think it offers enough under-stage space around its condenser mount. I will only buy the MIP5 head, as its vertical adjustment is more versatil...
