The point of this digiscope is that it takes pictures to jpg files on a memory card. I can process the images through normal photo software. The other digiscopes require the computer and the camera software only minimally supports digital microscopes. Thanks. These pictures are good enough for me. ...

How do you like that kind of microscope, compared to a regular stereo microscope with a separate camera? I checked the Tomlov site, and they show models with screens as big as 7" or 8" (I don't know what else changes). Does the screen integration cause any loss in "flexibility"?

Thanks for all the replies. I equated "zoom" to "magnification" and thought that all microscopes could zoom. I don't have the microscope yet but think it has discrete magnification steps. For lighting, I was told by the previous owner that I needed to add more light. I will simulate a gooseneck firs...
