I found this great lecture from a bio-chemist investigating the role of (a apecial type) B12 in restoring regulation to the electron transport chain that could be life saving... Not just to fight cancer, but it can even save your life if you are ever poisoned with cyanide! Anyway, I cant really capt...

Re: Using a pair of cameras with a stereo microscope
Hello, I would like to try taking stereoscopic photos using a stereo microscope. My guess is the easiest way to do this would be to get a good stereo microscope and replace both eyepieces with cameras. I'm wondering if anyone has tried this, and also if there is a stereo microscope with really good...

What was the film source and where did you have the pieces in the optical path? Regards Gerard I just got the 12$ sheets from amazon I cut a square to cover the light-source, and this is the sheet i rotate to get the effect I had a smaller square i cut to go over the microscope coverslip but i thin...

Loosen Stem after $12 upgrade to my microscope
Was $12 to buy a piece of polarization film and cut it into 2 pieces for polarization microscopy. Was pleasantly surprised by the first effect I've even generated using this method.

Re: Can someone help me understand this?
They told me that my 60x objective wouldn't be compatible withmy microscope. I asked if it would fit. They said yes. I am overjoyed with this objective. Yeah I got a 60X PLAN objective too. All my PLANs should be arriving tomorrow. I called charles in customer support who said the objectives would ...

Re: Can someone help me understand this?
They will work fine as a set. It is possible though, that in order for them to perform to perfectly planar well corrected specs. they would need eyepieces other than what you have on your microscope. Amscope buys parts and entire systems from multiple factories and jobbers, so full optical compatab...

Here's the link to the objectives I bought. I am pretty sure they will work on my T490A microscope despite what that guy said. Right?

Can someone help me understand this?

Getting an upgrade for my T490
Since I got a Tax return I figured I would give my T490 Microscope an upgrade lol I am going to sell the regular achromatic objectives that are already equipped and then I am going to upgrade them all to these PLAN Objectives. Hopefully I am not making a mistake, but from what I am reading it will b...

Re: Is my microscope broken?
Oh my God this is incredibly frustrating. Sometimes it clicks & slips more than once on the way down, it is subtle but on the higher objective you can see the jumpy movement very clearly and I can't help but get angry. I do not know on Amscopes but on BH-2 microscopes fine focus may slip if tension...

Re: Is my microscope broken?
Some microscopes have a 'range' of fine focus where you can't just continually move only the fine focus knob to focus the scope. You have to get within the operating range of the fine focus system. If you try to go beyond it the fine focus will either stop or click to tell you that you are trying t...

Re: Is my microscope broken?
Hi Leonhard, on many microscopes the fine focus only lifts the focus, it returns down only by gravity. So if you turn the fine focus all the way down, can you move the stage or arm (whatever is moved by the fine focus on your instrument upwards and does it move smoothly? Don't crash an objective in...

I'm angry, I've only had this T490A microscope a couple weeks and already I have a problem When I turn the fine focus so the stage is moving in the down direction sometimes it will click at a certain point and I notice the image in the microscope jumps slightly This is extremely frustrating! Is ther...

Re: Tiny flower & pollen i found on a hedge outside
Hi Leonhard, nice presentation of the topic, from life size to microscopic. Since the pollen image doesn't contain much valuable colour information I thought it might look nice in b/w. Only the green colour channel go make it sharper, levels, unsharp masking. How do you like this interpretation? Bo...

Tiny flower & pollen i found on a hedge outside
T490A + Stacking Tiny flower & pollen I found on a hedge outside by the entryway of my apartments. I bought a similar one for my son from Amazon a while back. When we tried it, the image was way off, on the borderline of an instant headache. I opened the head and found out that one of the prisms was loose and out of its socket. Not a surprise given its cost. I think I had to hot glue the prism b...

Seems interesting but expensive... I wonder if I can rig up my own analog for a fraction of the price. Any ideas?
