Re: My Travel Microscopes

I once carried a laboratory microscope weighing more than 20 kg in a pickup truck with a portable generator to observe it right by the sea. It was a trip over 1000 km. It didn't produce much results. Because I was busy with other things, so I couldn't observe much. Thinking about my experience at th...

Please do post the results. Here is my result of the testing above. The image which Planapo 63X/1.4 objective with Planapo 63X/1.4 dic slider renders is much better than Planapo 63X/1.4 objective with Planapo 100X/1.3 dic slider considering resolution, contrast and background's degree of uniformity...

I changed my old Jenaval microscope lamp for new DIY lamp

The short life of the old lamp(my microscope, Jenaval) has tormented me. 1 old lamp costs $36 on ebay. Consuming 10 lamps per year, it costs $360  Then I decided to make a DIY lamp. Total cost is 0.9+0.9+0.8+2.5 = $5.1 And consuming 10 lamps per year, it costs only $25. New DIY lamp is brighte...

My broken microscope, repairing it, making adapter(for taking photos) and poor image..... This sounds familiar! 😂 I can relate. It’s such a fun and interesting hobby though, and the community on this forum is fantastic. Welcome! Yes money in my pocket is lighter and lighter sadly. Thank you :D
