probably a water mite or if i see festoons in the second picture maybe a lost hard bodied tick but thats more about me having ticks on the mind. you need to catch it and look at more closely! It seems to be, but is too small I think... and it was underwater all the time... I taked an small part of java moss at around 25cms underwater, to see what could I see living there when I found it.

I have no idea how to catch it. It is really small, I can't see it with my eyes...the photo was taken with 250x. I was trying to identify it before ask here, so don't have the sample anymore. I will extract some algae more from de aquarium, maybe I can found more specimen like this to look more clos...

. If you use oblique illumination you don't have to close down the condenser iris nearly as much - improving resolution and giving a cleaner brighter image. First, thank you for the answers. The magnification levels I have are 40X, 100X, 250X, 400X, 1000X, and 2500X. The microscope comes with 4x, 10x, 40x and a 100x oil inmersion objetive, and the eyepieces are 10x and 25x.

Is there any difference between binocular and trinocular for image quality?
Can I use a binocular with a reflex camera adapter to make the same picture I can do with a trinocular one? I know the diference is the ability to work and take pictures at the same time with a tri, but...image quality will be the same?
