Re: Convert my RMS axioskop50 to an EPI
From what I understand, the microscope nosepiece was originally configured to accept RMS thread objectives, yet you bought M27 thread objectives. Picture "Threaded ring" above looks seems to be: the original objective mounting ring - the dark part, presumably M27, and the shiny brass internal ring ...

Re: Polychromatic polarization
Lots of great info here !!
last question. What would be the differnce in plate heights need to be if the first (SiO2) quartz z-cut is 10mm in thickness.
Or would these need to be an exact thickness.

Re: Convert my RMS axioskop50 to an EPI
Yes the threaded ring is original and untouched. At this point i could have used an adapter from the RMS to M27 H81101706e40142e59f4910ddf27cfd67Y.jpg . But this would not allow the light to travel thru the outer shell of the objective off its internal mirror Reflect off the specimen and travel back...

Once the turret was done 20210318_141328.jpg 20210318_141343.jpg It was time to take the threaded washers to the lathe. And make them M27 .75 First took them to the thread ID needed 20210322_233131.jpg Then threaded in the lathe so they will stay true and centered 20210401_170328.jpg And a little br...

I never really had the chance to have a good microscope as they were not as plentiful as Say in the USA.
