Re: objective threads
apochronaut mentioned having a condenser. The microscope has a diaphragm where the condenser would be. This diaphragm has different size holes. Is this supposed to function as a condenser?

I’m looking to purchase a 60x objective for a sw200. Swiss does not sell it. Does anyone know where I can obtain one? I know that there are adapters but I’m not sure if that’s the way to go. Also, how do I find out which threads are on my sw200?

Which combination preferred
A 100x magnification can be obtained with a 10x eye piece and a 10x objective OR a 25x eye piece and a 4x objective. Other than a “depth of field” issue which combination is preferred?

I’ve seen a video by Oliver stating that it could be dangerous to culture bacteria. How would one go about culturing specimens while keeping the bacteria population under control?

I am looking for a mechanical stage that fits a Swift SW200DL. Does anyone know where I could find one or is there a way to modify a different mechanical stage to fit?

Good idea or bad idea.
Would it be good to sterilize equipment in a microwave (slides, petri dish, etc.)?

Re: objective hits the slide
Thanks for your suggestions. I'll check out your recommendations. When I adjusted the stop for the higher magnifications I was unable the focus the lower objectives so I put it back to the original. Thanks again.

Can't focus with the longer objectives it runs into the cover glass on the attempt to focus.
I'll look into other objectives.
Thanks guys

I’m relatively new to this. Is there anything (poster, charts, photos, etc.) that I could place next to my microscope to help me identify organisms?
